Dr. Moness Masri

Dr. Masri is an ophthalmologist with a focus on general ophthalmology, cataracts, glaucoma, and medical and surgical diseases of the retina. He is committed to delivering thorough, patient-centered care and takes pride in serving the province of Saskatchewan, which he has called home for over 15 years.

Education

Dr. Masri completed both his medical degree and a five-year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Saskatchewan. He then completed a medical and surgical vitreo-retinal fellowship at the University of Alberta. 

To complement his clinical training, he also completed a research fellowship at the University of Toronto, where he contributed to academic work in the field of ophthalmology.

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Masri provides care for a broad range of retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears, and vein occlusions. He performs vitreo-retinal surgery in hospital and offers in-office procedures and diagnostics for medical retina diseases. He also manages cataracts, including complex cases that involve underlying retinal disease.

Academic Involvement

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Masri is involved in medical education as part of the ophthalmology residency training program at the University of Saskatchewan. He currently serves as the research director for the program, helping to guide residents through their scholarly activities and supporting research that improves patient care.

A Connection to Community

Dr. Masri is a member of the Saskatoon Health Region and holds full surgical admitting privileges. He is fully licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and exploring new places when time allows.
